5 Keys to Tapping Success

Millions of people around the world are tapping, but not all of them are getting the same results. Have you ever wondered why some people get better results than others?

Recently I received a phone call from a woman asking to set up an appointment because her friends were having great success with EFT, but the caller had not been so fortunate. She wanted to know what she was missing. Why was it working so well for other people but not for her?

When I first found EFT I didn't know how to use it with very much skill either. It wasn't until I learned some valuable EFT concepts and techniques that things really changed for me. Maybe you, too, would like to get better results. Here's a place to start:
1. Be specific. Is your target "specific" or "global"? The number one reason why EFT doesn't seem to work very well is that people tend to choose targets that are way too big. EFT Founder Gary Craig has said, "The more specific you are, the more precise your EFT results." If you are tapping on physical pain be specific about exactly what it feels like, where it is located, the size of it, etc. ("This sharp, throbbing pain on the left side of my forehead that's about the size of a quarter.") As you tap, track any changes you notice. If the issue is emotional, the simplest way to get specific is to narrow it down to a specific event (defined as something that took 2 minutes or under to happen---no more than that). Then, tap on the specific pieces of experience inside that specific event (these are called aspects).

2. Measure accurately before you begin and along the way. Are you keeping track of your progress? Ask yourself, "On a scale of 0-10, how much does this bother me?" Zero (0) is not at all, and 10 is a lot. This is called the SUD scale. Tap until you get to zero.

3. Use your own words. Are you concerned about what words work best? The most common question people ask is,  "What should I say when I tap?". Once you have a well defined, specific target and have measured your SUD number you can just start tapping and talking. Notice what you feel and talk about that. If you know how to identify aspects tap on those. When it comes to EFT your own words are the best words.

4. Stay on track.  Are you drifting from target to target? Once you have selected a tapping target stay on that target. You'll probably find that your attention will wander to other things, and if that happens it's okay. But notice it and then come back to your chosen target. The goal is to tap that one target down to zero.

5. Get expert assistance.  Would you like to further advance your EFT knowledge? If you want to improve your ability to get results with EFT one of the best things to do is learn from an expert. Individual sessions are customized to your specific needs and questions. EFT training provides you with a lot of information and experience in a relatively short period of time. Both ways of learning are beneficial.

Use these 5 Keys to Tapping Success next time you tap. While it is impossible to predict exactly what results we will get when we use EFT, the better your skills the better chance of getting good results.
