Preparing for An EFT Session

This is my email reply to a recent inquiry about how to prepare for an EFT session:

In order to best prepare for your session first I would suggest clarifying your goal for the session: What outcome do you want?

You may also want to think ahead about what specific issue you want to tap on.
If what you are working on is what EFT Founder Gary Craig would call a "global issue" ( a big or general issue like self esteem, anger, relationship problems, financial problems) we will need to find something specific within that broader category to use for the tapping. Global issues are addressed through specifics in EFT. If you are not familiar with this concept you can read more about this via articles on this web site or I can show you how to find the right target for EFT during an EFT session. There is a bit of an art to it.

You may already be focused on something specific that is bothering you, or a set of specifics (something that happened at work, something you want to be able to do but don't have the confidence, a past event that seems to be affecting your present life, etc.). These kinds of issues make good targets for EFT.

let me know if you have any further questions.
