Optimal EFT Workshop w/Gary Craig

Recently I spent three wonderful days with EFT Founder Gary Craig at his first Optimal EFT Workshop in San Francisco. He has wanted to present this information since the beginnings of EFT but has only recently felt the time was right.
Optimal EFT is composed of Gary's Gold Standard EFT with the addition of quantum physics and spiritual principles. Gary's own spiritual path is A Course in Miracles, so the spiritual principles he uses are from that body of work. However, many of these spiritual principles are found in other spiritual paths, so to some extent they are universal.
Optimal EFT is not another kind of EFT. It is more a perspective for using Gary Craig's Gold Standard EFT as it already exists. It provides ideas on how to approach problems and principles about how life works that may be helpful in collapsing issues, thereby moving us toward a more spiritually enlightened experience.

Many people in the EFT community have marveled at Gary's generosity in giving EFT away. For many years he provided a 73 page manual at no cost. And now, his web site, emofree.com, has wonderful educational material about EFT, including videos, and much of it is free. He mentioned at the workshop that he knew from the beginning that he could use EFT commercially to make money, but it was because of his spiritual path that he decided instead to give it away. This act of generosity has resulted in EFT becoming known world wide and millions of people discovering and using it. As EFT promotes the experience of inner peace it is simultaneously a path to helping to create more peace in the world.
The goal of Optimal EFT is to remove the blocks to the awareness of Love's presence. The Love that is referred to is spiritual, all inclusive Love. Gary pointed out that negative emotions tend to dominate our experience. But, Gary, and many others in the workshop (including me), have had "spiritual experiences" that have led us to understand that beyond any negativity we may experience there is a state of spiritual wholeness that is impossible to describe in words. However, it can be experienced.
Quantum physics has been telling us for several decades that the physical universe is made up of spinning subatomic particles in what is 99.99% empty space. Our senses tell us that our bodies and other objects are solid, but this is contrary to the findings of quantum physics. Our senses only pick up on a very small part of the frequencies (vibrations) of the electromagnetic spectrum. Dogs can hear sounds that humans can't hear. Bees can detect ultraviolet light that humans can't see. Our human senses are unable to detect aspects of "reality" that other species can detect. Furthermore, our senses lead us to the conclusion that we are separate beings when quantum physics tells us that everything is interconnected—everything is One.
Gary has been a student of The Course in Miracles (ACIM) for many years, and he says that while quantum physics provides us with some information about WHAT the world we are living in is it provides no information about WHY we are here or HOW to live. He presented some of the principles from the Course to help fill this gap. He very clearly stated that ACIM is HIS path, and that the attendees of the workshop were free to adopt, reject, borrow from or otherwise use the ideas.
The Course is a very deep body of work so I'm not going to go into it too much here, but in terms of using it with EFT the idea is that as we progress in our own spiritual development our capacity to use EFT as practitioners and on ourselves is enhanced. Optimal EFT may be used to help reduce the sense of separation and accompanying lack of Love we experience in our lives. It emphasizes releasing deeply held guilt and realizing true forgiveness, two essential components to finding inner peace.

For me, it was wonderful to be with Gary again. He's a delightful, generous, wise person who is also a wonderful teacher. It was also great to be with a group of advanced EFT practitioners from all over the world (Brazil, Holland, Germany, etc.) who share an interest in the spiritual dimensions of life and in using EFT with spiritual principles. My lifelong studies in spiritual psychology have led me to some conclusions that are similar to Gary's which I am already using in my work with clients, so I find Optimal EFT to be a very exciting development and look forward to learning more.
While spirituality is very personal, there are universal life principles we can share that can help us find our way out of inner darkness into Light. And, as we make personal progress we help bring more Light into the world. Optimal EFT helps us make that kind of progress.
